​My name is Adella, and I have had the honor of serving as President of ARWLV for a little over a year now. I’ll admit that my busy work life has kept me from being as fully engaged with ARW as I would have liked. But recently, I made the decision that I do want to continue with ARW—and that meant asking myself: What is my mission? What direction do I want this club to go in?

It hit me as I was getting ready for my day: MAHA – Make America Healthy Again.

For my entire adult life, I have struggled with weight. I tried every diet, every exercise fad, and still never felt truly healthy. In 2022, I made the decision to have weight loss surgery and change my eating habits. I thought I had made the shift—I was eating more protein, drinking more water, and exercising more. But even then, I still didn’t feel good.

My daughter began educating me about reading labels and being mindful of what’s really in our food. That was my turning point. Around the same time, RFK began speaking out about the toxins and unhealthy additives in what we eat every day. I started going down the rabbit hole, learning about dyes, chemicals, and hidden ingredients that are making us—and especially our children—sick.

I have since made changes in my own life, and I want to share them with others. My vision is for ARWLV to not only empower women politically, but also to lead as activists in MAHA—starting in our own community. That means advocating for healthier schools, raising awareness about dyes and chemicals in foods, and teaching our families how to truly read labels.

This is a mission I believe in with all my heart, and I’m excited to bring it into our club’s purpose moving forward. Together, we can fight for healthier communities and a stronger future.
